Being 25 and into watches does not always go together. Watches are inherently very expensive, and the cost of admittance into the hobby can be overwhelming. It is a hobby and passion of appreciation and style. You have to appreciate the beautiful, recognize the handsome, and critique the flawed. Few of us are hands on in anyway. Meaning we do not fix or modify watches, not do we really understand the inner workings for the most part.Being "into watches" is really about being able to appreciate and recognize achievements in utility and design. As I will try to illustrate over time, making a nice watch is very hard to do. Many of the watches I criticized for a long time, I have recently come to appreciate for their classic looks and on going charm. Further, some things which appear nice at first often end up losing their novelty and on going appeal.Much more to come soon.

Citizen Minute Repeater Question
I just got a great deal on one of the Citizen 9000 calibre minute repeaters. Of course it has a ton of features and I love all the different chiming sounds it makes but the one function I cant find is an hourly time signal or chime that is so standard with every Casio and Timex quartz that I have ever owned. I can't believe with all the sounds this makes that it wouldn't have a simple hourly chime!Anyhow, if anyone knows please inform me. Also the model I got was the black and white faced version. If anyone has an all white face version and is in the mood for a trade let me know!

Brown straps - better with anthracite or silver dial?
Which is the better combo? I like my Tissot Power80 luxury so much I ordered one with an anthracite dial on a stainless bracelet. I'm trying to decide if I should switch the bracelet to the silver dial and the brown strap to the black dial or leave them as is (or as will be when the black one arrives).

Breitling Rubber Strap Spring Bars
Just purchased an OEM Breitling rubber strap for my Galactic II Chrono and I have read that a rubber strap requires a slightly longer set of spring bars. For bracelets 22mm, 23mm for rubber. I went ahead and used the standard 22mm bars that came with the watch and the fit is fine. Am I missing something here?Is there a know issue with using the 22mm bars, sure don't want to take a chance of losing the watch. Can any experts chime in?

Transocean, thoughts?
Hi all,I have not delve into B retiring in a long time. And never thought I would until I saw a Transocean while passing a local jeweler. I did a double take on a black one on mesh bracelet. I just loved the simplicity of the dial, as I wear suits for work, and the refined look. Didn't look like a Breitling. The black dial would complement the rest of my collection. Questions;How is that mesh bracelet? Is is comfortable and versatile?What kind of strap can I put on it if I wanted a different look?Any comments and pictures greatly appreciated as I am eager to add it to my collection.
