Alpina AL-525B4S6B wrist watches news:
Those of you who read the Wall Street Journal may have received your annual Watch supplement with your paper last Friday for the weekend. The supplement on watches is related to the Madison Avenue Watch Week in New York, and I was proud to have contributed the feature article which is on watch collectors.Working with the Wall Street Journal was a really fulfilling experience and for those who don't get the paper or didn't see it, you can see the full supplement and read my feature article in the PDF below. Those of you in New York City should further check out Watch Week 2013.Read Ariel Adams' Watch Collector Article In the Wall Street Journal
Those of you in Singapore can pick up a copy of High magazine - which recently hit newsstands. It published by MediaCorp, and it's about watches, jewelry, fashion, lifestyle, and health. All for high-net worth individuals. I am proud to be one of the guest editors, and it was really cool to see my name right there on the cover. It should come as no surprise that I write about watches in the magazine. The magazine is also both in English and Chinese. A fellow guest editor is actually Dr. Andrew Weil who is a really well-known doctor who writes books about healthy living. He is a cool guy and was actually a professor at the University of Arizona while I was going there. Anyhow, my recommendation to luxury loving Singaporeans is to go outand get High.
When Swatch announced the Sistem51 at Baselworld 2013, watch enthusiasts took note. The mechanical, machine-made wristwatch was lauded for its simple movement architecture (51 components anchored to a central screw) all hermetically sealed against potentially damaging environmental elements. While the introductory models featured a linear, constellation-esque pattern on the dial, these new versions (excepting the pink watch) are more conservative in design. Luckily, the Sistem51 will still be offered at a reasonable price of $150.We won't get too deep into technical details in this post; for that, we recommend reading our hands-on review of the Sistem51 here. In summary, notwithstanding its plastic construction, the Sistem51 marks a step forward for Swatch in terms of product concepts and production techniques. "Sistem Cream" 2 OF 6 In addition to the "Sistem Chic," the "Sistem Cream" offers a much more restrained take on the Siste
I have tried to search the forum, but unable to find anything.I have found (in my magic box) a Lucerne Pocket watch with a huge gold (coloured) chain about 25 inches long. A bit like the picture below. On the movement it is marked Basis swiss made 1 Jewel and Lucerne and at 6oclock, swiss made on the dial. All I can find is Basis is near Lucerne. Any light you can shed, let me know. I like to know what I have and a little bit about the companies. Thanks
Hi allFirst of all thanks to all of you who replied to my thread with regards to choosing between a 5712 and a 5164. Really helpful comments.I got a msg from my AD about a week ago telling me that I had been allocated a 5712G that was to arrive on April 1.I still hadn't decided between the 5712G and the 5164. I told my AD contact I was probably leaning towards the 5164 however I didn't want to miss the opportunity to see the Nautilus in the flesh so in I go to check it out. I'm the first customer in the door. I look at the 5712G from every angle for quite a while. It's a beautiful piece but it just wasn't singing to me... I wanted to look cool like Paul McCartney and George Soros! So I tell the AD that I just can't do it and will wait for the 5164. He asks me if I'm sure and I say yes. He signals to his co-worker and within 30 seconds out she comes with a double sealed 5164! He says surprise! April Fools! Was t sure if I was annoyed or ecstatic or both. Probably both! Anyway it was gr
