Hi. Identification & Information German Pocketwatch
I have a pocketwatch that was in my grandfathers watch shop when he passed away and I have been trying to learn more about it. I have been told the maker was Robert Hessel in Erfurt Germany. I have not been able to find any information on this person or any other samples of his work if this is true. This name and city is engraved inside the back cover of the watch. I assumed this was the owner...but someone said this is the watch maker. There are several other marks some I know are silver marks and proof marks. I'f I'm in the wrong place - please just point me in the right place?There is a blemish on the face next to the number "2" and I assumed this is why my grandfather had it to repair. But...nobody ever came back for the watch. We waited well over 6 months and then my father had the items for YEARS longer and instruction to his neighbors where to send people to collect their time pieces. I have several more of all kinds I haven't even gotten to yet. Some watches (no band) with soli
