- Nice watch. I got this watch for the vibrating alarm so as to not wake my wife. It works well for that but I actually liked it and wear it during the day also.

Audemars Piguet 77224OR.ZZ.A012SU.01 wrist watches news:
Some of you might remember that I finally got my constellation early this year. NowI think it is somehow broken already.I woke up this morning. Looked at my alarm and it said 7:30. I went to brush my teeth and glanced at my connie and it said 8:30. Now, I panicked, thinking that my alram had died and it was indeed 8:30. I went to the computer and my other watches and they all said 7:30.Now, it is awfully strange that the difference was exactly an hour.Anyone has any idea as to what might have happened?thanks
Some of you may recall that I installed a Thomas Preik display back on my Explorer II. There was no problem with it other than it changed the way the watch sat on my wrist. It was not as comfortable as the original. And as the Rolex movements are not as nicely finished as most other watches, I sold the back and restored the original steel back. With the money from the sale, I ordered another display back from Thomas for my 2254.50 SMP. In error, he sent a back for a mid-size SMP. I notified him of the mistake and he immediately sent me the correct back. I returned the mid-size back to him.I installed the correct back myself and later took it to my watchmaker for pressure testing. It failed miserably. The Preik back was a half mm larger in diameter which prevented the back from sealing properly. My watchmaker offered to reduce the diameter with his lathe for a proper fit but I wanted to consult with Thomas before letting him do the work.I have now emailed Thomas four times (begi
I got up early, especially early thanks to Daylight Savings Time, to go to the NAWCC meeting this morning. It was a first time for me so I thought I'd tell you how it went.$22 to get in and there was probably about 40 tables manned by various folks selling their stuff. You meet all kinds of people at these events - many with questionable hygene habits I would venture to guess - but all interested in things that tell time.I picked up immediately that you negotiate with the vendors, maybe not so much as at an Arabian market, but everything is negotiable at a mart. A lot of people buying just gold.My first buy was this Rodney. It has an original dial but it's kind of coated in nicotene or something. It cleaned up pretty well and the case is very nice. A pretty good buy for $70, I think. I'm still not crazy about the dial though.I have a couple of projects that I'm trying to finish and I was looking for movements with good balances. I found a nice 986A and installed it in this YGF
I finally got out of the house for a bit before our big road trip and took the mascot to the local AAA ballgame. Here are some pics of the game and the mascot. That large building is the KODAK World HQ. A few years ago Rochester was part of a large art project called Horses on Parade. Different companies would sponsor an artist to decorate a life sized fiberglass horse in different ways. This one was sponsored by the Rochester Red Wings Baseball club. This is the attendance for the Red Wings so far this season.Team store and mascot.Sorry about the quality of the pics. I didn't bring my DSLR so I had to resort to my phone for the pics.It turned out to be a good game. After a slow start we were down 4-0 by the end of the 3rd. We fought our way back to tie it up by the end of the 7th and ended up winning with a walk off HR in the bottom of the 11th.
I'm suffering a small dilemma. I have a steel Offshore Diver. I love the watch, but I also love black watches. Scratch resistance is up there on my wish list also. I'll keep the steel diver, as I've buried myself in bracelets and straps and buckles. I've found a local Forged Carbon with orange accents. It's pre-owned but appears never worn. Yet when I look at the forged diver, I get mixed feelings. The ceramic offers scratch resistance, like the carbon. But what really sings on the ceramic is the display back of the ceramic diver, very cool. Is it worth waiting to find one? I rarely buy new at AD's. I'll let someone take the initial hit
