Audemars Piguet 26297OR.OO.D101CR.01 wrist watches news:
Prior to the opening of the 2012 Baselworld watch fair in Basel, Switzerland this week, Blancpain has offered up what it refers to as an “appetizer” to the main course of new models to be unveiled at the show. It is the first model in the brand’s Villeret collection to feature a flinqu¨¦ lacquered dial, on which several layers of translucent blue lacquer are applied to create the effect of depth. Housed within the new watch’s 40-mm-diameter white-gold case is Blancpain’s ultra-slim Calibre 7663Q, which contains 244 parts and 34 jewels and has a three-day power reserve. This new self-winding movement powers the hour and minute hands as well as a center-mounted, serpentine-shaped date pointer. The running seconds are on a retrograde display at 6 o¡¯clock. The under-lug corrector at 5 o¡¯clock enables fast date adjustment. The watch has a sapphire exhibition caseback that shows off the movement, most notably the distinctive guilloch¨¦ oscillating weight that is a
Just for grins, I put in the minimum bid for a new one of these on ebay:I'd debated between the Hamilton Jazzmaster Tonneau and Jazzmaster Open Heart, and ended up with the Tonneau. So, I figured if I could win the above for the minimum bid, it would fill the slot of the Open Heart. The best part? The minimum bid, which ended up being the winning bid, was $125.00. Maybe not the deal of the century, but I certainly think it is at least a GOOD deal!I think when I was looking at the Open Heart, someone suggested this Bulova - to whoever that was, a belated thank you!Forgot to mention - even though it's an automatic, I won't feel the need to get another winder for it. It has no date, so if it stops running, I won't have to reset the date or make sure it's set in the a.m. or p.m.! I can treat it like I do my vintage watches with no date that are NOT automatic.
Interesting question that I have considered...We are all watch enthusiasts and collectors, but what about kicking it up a notch and running it like a part time home business? Why not? I know several friends that have hobby's such as ATV racing that they have formed LLCs (limited liability company, here in USA) to operatate it as a business.I never really thought of doing so for watch collecting, but it makes sense since the inventory does change as we buy and sell. Would there be advantages to this?I would be interested in your collective thoughts on this interesting twist to our love and affection for all things horology. Thanks in advance,Regards,
A friend of mine owns a Breitling SuperOcean Heritage Chrono with mesh strap and I love this watch to bits. He knows very well I like it and now I have the opportunity to buy it from him for 30% less than a new one. It's been very well looked after - spends most of it's time in his safe. My friend also owns 2 jewelery shops and is an AD for Breilting. Even with the 30% off, it will still cost me 3 times my monthly expenses I really want this watch, I do - but I'm afraid if I do get it, it will just spend it's time sitting in my safe with my Tag Heuer which I've worn only once in two years. I'm always afraid that I will bash the watch against something just on that day that I do decide to wear it (suppose it a little bit of my OCD that comes forward). It is a far stretch for me buying it, up to a certain point I do have the means to acquire it - but I don't know if I should push myself that far.Anyone else gone through this and how have you dealt with it? If you did decide to go
I love the two and want to sell some of my watches to finance this, want to sell 028 brand new, Cartier and Breitling not new, the 217 dial is great and it's a legend, but in very good state 14.000 euros, 368 around 11.000, but 368 is titanium and 8 day panerai movement, where 217 is just ETA, don't care about future prices, just want to know what you guys think, both make me go crazy...
