Audemars Piguet 67461BA/Z/001LZ/02 wrist watches news:
When most people today here the word "chrono", they immediately think of a chronograph, a watch with 2 or 3 sub-dials to time events and things. Well, there is another chrono, the chronometer. This watch looks much like an ordinary watch, but it is actually a very precise timing instrument, which is tested under many tough conditions, unlike the ordinary timepiece. For a watch to be described as a chronometer, it must meet certain precision standards. In Switzerland, the Contr?le Officiel Suisse des Chronom¨¨tres (COSC) conducts tests and issues certificates to watch movements that meet its standards. A watch containing a movement meeting those standards may use the term ¡®chronometer¡¯.Here is the COSC definition of a chronometer:¡®A chronometer is a high-precision watch capable of displaying the seconds and housing a movement that has been tested over several days, in different positions and at different temperatures, by an official neutral body (COSC).¡¯On granting certification, the COSC
I was just browsing through some Zenith watches (they so pretty!) and noticed the number of open faced watches they have. I don't think I'm a real fan of the look. Don't get me wrong, I love looking at a nice movement and appreciate the craftsmanship. But I just don't know about how they look as part of the face.I know a lot of people do like them, but was wondering how many felt like I do?

My first Patek, perhaps. Dont know how its supposed to look, with case and papers. Have included pictures. Does everything look ok?RegardsAlexander116718LN GN, 116600, 116200, 116610LV
OK, this is the problem - my spouse has the eye for the Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce which I was thinking of getting for her but after doing some research, i realised that firstly, it runs on Quartz movement and secondly, it comes with a rubber strap, and of course, it cost a hefty US$13K at least. Is it worth the money at all?? From a watch lover point of view, it doesn't really make alot of sense to pay so much for a quartz watch with rubber strap. I know Patek typically hold value really well but does it apply to the ladies range as well? I'm afraid it's like the Rolex Cellini range where it's nice and expensive but does not hold value well. And quartz... so far, my experience with Quartz watches has been rather dismal. The battery inevitably leaks after a while and a overhaul, which i imagine would cost the price of a rolex, would be required. Then again, I do not have any experiences with Patek ladies watch and hence appreciate any advice.
