Negotiating the price of a watch.
Ok, I had a great experience when I bought my wifes Patek last month. I am the type of customer who wants the seller to tell me the great price, and I either bite or not. With the Patek, it was listed high, I talked to him 3 times and on the 3rd time, he told me the price I was willing to pay, ans I bought. Now I am interested in a Ulysse Nardin Maxi. On my 5th e-mail, the guy only keeps telling me I need "come up to the market". He wont state a price, so I am done with him. Bottom line is, I want the lowest price, he wants the highest price, and neither will blink first. I however believe it is the sellers responsibility to blink first. In this case, the willingness not to link 1st is costing him an easy sale. All I ask it to be given a fair price we can both live with.

Im shure this has ben covered before but I went through a cupple pages on here and dident see anything I have ben wearing my speedy a cupple years now and always take it off to shower and swim I Definitely wouldent snorkel or scuba in it or anything but wanted to know if anyone takes there's with them in the shower or for a swim at the pool . Any.concerns water getting in the case?

Speedmaster 145.022 Question
Hi guys,Hoping you can give me your opinions on this watch I'm thinking about purchasing. Originally, I was looking for a 145.012 since it's a bit more collectible but this seems like a pretty great 145.022 pre-moon with box and papers. I only have 2 photos but let me know what you think. The seller is offering it for $3900 so I'd appreciate your thoughts on whether you think that's a fair price too. He thinks everything is original but if you see anything wonky please point it out.Thanks all!

Price increase in Canada!
Was at the AD today. . .price increase starting May 1. 8-10% across the board, not a light increase given the starting price point. Part of the increase may be currency related as the Canadian dollar has weakened against the Franc. Luckily I picked up my latest in January!

Given I have spent a year or so buying watches and flipping etc, I am very pleased with the 3 I have and in the price point I am operating don¡¯t see anything that really floats my boat really, save maybe a 5 digit gmt. That said, rather than keep spending on me, I decided that my wife should have one as she loves watches but has been loathed to give up her tag which suits her beautifully and has some sentimental meaning.Anyway, it¡¯s her 40th next year and I thought I¡¯d bite the bullet pre any possible price rise round the corner. It¡¯s a beauty and the dial is lovely. Is exactly the one she liked when we had a browse a few months ago.I feel more excited giving her this than picking up any of mine!
