On April 30th Cartier celebrated the 100th anniversary of Cartier in North America with an event at the Cartier boutique on Fifth Avenue. Attendees included Bernard Fornas, President & CEO of Cartier International, Fr¨¦d¨¦ric de Narp, President & CEO of Cartier North America as well as photographer Bruce Weber and Alan Khazei, founder and CEO of Be The Change, Inc. Return Of American Made: RGM Brings Back A US Made Watch Movement, The Caliber 801
It has been a long while indeed since any mechanical watch movements have been made in America. Sure there are high quality American watch companies such as RGM, Kobold, Hamilton, Ball, and various small operations such as the Bozeman Watch Company and Ryser Kentfield, but buy mostly Swiss made movements and special parts. It was probably Hamilton that last made mechanical watch movements 30-40 years ago.As an art almost lost in America, it took Roland Murphy of RGM watches to re discover watch movement making. To that extent, RGM is releasing the first American made watch movement, the Caliber 801, in a new line of watches to be available soon. The movement is a highly decorated, attractive three hand movement with a subsidiary seconds. It features 19 jewels and is manually wound. Can anyone tell me when this Longines was made? It was found on the bottom of an old safe the watch has a Rhino stamped on the back (the watch is working well)

Question on Speedy Movements
Guys, need your help. I'm in the market for a Speedy, but possibly leaning towards a date complication. Depending on the reference, I note they are cheaper than the iconic 3570 or 3573. Is it because the 1164 or 3304 movements are inferior & less dependable than the 1861 or 1863 movements?Appreciate your thoughts.

Jubilee Possible for OP 39mm?
I would like to replace the Oyster bracelet on my 114300 Oyster Perpetual 39mm with a Super Jubilee Bracelet. Is this possible? The lug width is 20mm I'm thinking a DJ 41mm Jubilee would work for the following reasons. The DJ 41mm is actually only 39mm and has a 20mm lug width. Even if the fit is not perfect, would this possibly work?I'm open to either the newer Jubilee, the older Jubilee, or possibly even an aftermarket as a very last resort.Thank you for any suggestions and advice.
