Baume & Mercier M0A08842 wrist watches news:
There are few watches on the market today that are as timeless and iconic as those designed by Max Bill for the German watchmaker, Junghans. The Max Bill line is undoubtedly a master class in form and function, and the timepieces sold by Junghans today are largely unchanged from their 60s predecessors. Any new entries into the Max Bill line remain largely true to Bill's original vision. One such entry is the Max Bill Automatic Anthracite (Ref. 3401). Released in 2014, the 3401 is nearly identical to the 3400 model, but repackaged in a bold new color palette. And it's this color palette that sold me on the watch. It might not be pure Bauhaus, but neither was Max Bill. It was resurrected again in the early 1960's to market a line of watches with wood veneer dials. Numerous obstacles had to be overcome, such as finding veneers that were supple enough to conform to the shape of the dials, thick enough that you couldn't see through the grain, and resistance to porosity so the glue used to apply them to the silver dials wouldn't ooze through. The actual silver dials were reduced in thickness so that the .013" thick (equal to the thickness of about four sheets of notepad paper) veneer could be applied. Four or five wood types met the criteria and production proceeded. Unfortunately, they were a sales failure and most were returned to the
Does anyone have any informayion on Drass proffessional diving watches?
Just received the orange rubber strap from APSC. Love this combo!
Im curious why so much love for the RB2? Don't get me wrong, it's sweet as hell, and I'd sell BOTH my arms for the Platinum version (blue dial/strap). Though at $100k, I will have to settle for the also sweet as hell Navy Themes. So, for the RB2, is it the movement, Ti case, looks, limited edition, or just a combo?
