Jaeger-LeCoultre Celebrates 100 Years of Aston-Martin with Three New Watches
In a stroke of serendipity, 2013 marks both the 180th anniversary of Swiss watch brand Jaeger-LeCoultre and the 100th anniversary of British luxury automaker Aston-Martin, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s partner for nearly a decade in the development of special, luxury-auto-inspired timepieces.The new timepieces comprise two from JLC’s Master collection, the Master Compressor Extreme W-Alarm and Master Hometime; and one from the AMVOX collection, the AMVOX5 World Chronograph Cermet, which marks the debut of a new case material.The Master Compressor Extreme W-Alarm Aston Martin combines a world-time display with a mechanical alarm function. The time on the alarm can be read easily on the left-hand side of the dial at 9 o’clock, where two juxtaposed disks, one displaying the hours from 1 to 12 and the other showing the quarter-hours, appear through a large, semicircular aperture. TAG Heuer to Increase Movement-Manufacturing at New Site in Jura
TAG Heuer has announced that it is doubling its mechanical-chronograph movement manufacturing capacity by building a new site in Chevenez, in the Swiss Canton of Jura, which will create 100 jobs and be operational by the end of 2013. The site will produce the in-house Caliber 1887 mechanical chronograph that was launched two years ago, plus a brand-new caliber that TAG Heuer is developing. Currently, all of TAG Heuer’s in-house movements are made by the company at its facility in La Chaux-de-Fonds and at Cortech in Cornol. TAG Heuer also buys Swiss mechanical movements from Sellita, ETA, Dubois-Depraz, Soprod and Zenith. The company cited the reduction in supply announced by ETA ¡ª supported by the Swiss Competition Committee COMCO, through its provisional measures ¡ª and the additional volumes needed to meet its growth targets as reasons for manufacturing more mechanical movements in-house. Full disclosure: I am a vintage Seiko fanatic. My watch-collecting journey really started with a fascination for Seiko¡¯s iconic automatic models of ¡®60s, ¡®70s, and (early) ¡®80s. Changing to a rubber strap
Alright. I am so frustrated right now that I am about to blow up. I received today the rubber strap for my PO. I am telling you, this is the last time I will be changing straps. It is virtually impossible to do this. No wait! Physically impossible. I finally was able to get the short strap on. however, I am having difficulty inputting the longer strap.I need adivce, tips, help, anything on how to do this asap. Taking it to a jeweler is out of the questions. DIY's please respond.
