Hello Longines lovers...I'm seeking info on this watch (sorry no pics) that I found in the same antique shop that I bought the last Omega I'm restoring...It's a Longines, I guess circa 1930, with this specs (from the quick sight of it)WristwatchSterling silver case with a lot of engraving, very artisanal workIt has a cover, like a pocket watch, you have to open it to read the timeManual windLeather strapAnybody know something about a model like this?
Hamilton K-454catalogued 1955-195710K yellow gold fill with stainless steel back17-jewel automatic movement by Burenanti-magnetic, shock resistant, water resistant35mm case diameter38mm over the lugs17mm strap widthThe K-454 is cmmonly referred to as the "Sputnik" watch because of the futuristic dial design. Note how the markings on the dial give the illusion that the lugs pierce the case to hold the watch together. The hands have luminous inlays and the marker dots have it, as well. Also, the crown is recessed into the case for a smoother look.
I've been doing some research on vintage Seikos and they appear to have well made movements. I was just wondering if anyone has any opinions on them. How would the Seiko lord matics movements compare to swiss movements, like omega or eterna etc.?
I saw the Devon Tread 1 a couple of days ago and just couldn't get it out of my head. It's by far the coolest watch i have seen. Just not sure about the price though. I know for sure i will like it more than both my PAM 448 and 449 but i also know that when i want to resell my watch, it will be a bigger heartache on the Devon Tread 1. PAM 448, 449 will have more of a stability due to them being the SE version watches. What do you think? Here is a link to the cool watch the Devon Tread 1.youtube/watch?v=i79T2IzOEfM
