Arnold & Son Adds 3 New Versions of the UTTE
Spring has sprung, and with it new colors are everywhere. Arnold & Son has given us a spring of its own: the La Chaux-de-Fonds brand just introduced three new variations on its renowned UTTE model. Here’s a look at the new hues and materials Arnold & Son has on offer. Arnold & Son created great buzz in 2013 when it launched the UTTE ¨C a name that stands for “Ultra-Thin Tourbillon Escapement.” In fact, you could say that the UTTE was a major part of Arnold’s rise to prominence as a small, high-end Swiss brand. The UTTE movement is something to behold: it’s just 2.97 mm thick. Cased up, the watch is still only 8.34 mm thick. It has a 42-mm-wide case and a dial that leaves plenty of open space so you can admire the workings of its flying tourbillon, which rises above of the dial at 6 o’clock.Until now, the UTTE has only been available with lighter, engraved dials: a guilloch¨¦, for instance, or a wave pattern. Scuderia Ferrari One Watch By Cabestan
The big news this week in the watch world was the big deal between Ferrari and high-end watch maker Cabestan along with its designer Jean-Francois Ruchonnet. Cabestan is to make a limited edition collection of very high-end Ferrari branded watches. I briefly discussed the Ferrari / Cabestan watch deal here on Luxist. This comes just a few months after Ferrari officially broke ties with Panerai, who was previously given a license to make Ferrari branded watches. I discussed the termination of the Panerai/Ferrari relationship here. Panerai was making watches priced comparable to other Panerai watches in the $10,000 range (give or take several thousand) for most of the Ferrari watches. The Panerai name wasn't even on the dial. The watches were a market failure - bigger than you'd think when it came to the popular Ferrari name. That the steel & gold Yachtmaster has the exact same weight as a platinum Yachtmaster? Despite the fact that the steel & gold has hollow gold center links where the steel & platinum version has solid center links. I thought they weighed close to the same, but didn't expect them to be the same. Both are 149 grams.Interesting....

Omega PO Crown Waterproof Unscrewed?
I'm curious if anyone has an answer, is the PO crown still waterproof to any degree when unscrewed?Rolex claims that both the twinlock and triplock crowns will maintain their watertight nature even when fully unscrewed, so I'm wondering if Omega has the same or similar design. I sometimes think about what would happen if I showered or swam with my PO 8500 with the crown unscrewed (don't worry, I'm not brave enough to do it).I suppose the best way to find out would be to unscrew the crown an put it in a pressure tester and see at what point it fails...
