It’s a few days before Mother’s Day and you still haven’t found the right gift for the woman who raised you? Read on. We offer a sampling of new women¡¯s watches to make your last-minute shopping a snap. The Dior VIII Grand Bal Fil de Soie has an 11 1?2-ligne automatic caliber that¡¯s inverted so that the rotor is on the dial. The rotor itself is highly unusual: the rose-gold oscillating weight is woven with a single 1.5-meter-long pink silk thread and set with diamonds. The dial is made of black mother-of-pearl. The 38-mm case is made of ceramic and rose gold with a diamond-set bezel. The watch has a 42-hour power reserve. It comes on a black patent-leather strap with a rose-gold buckle, also set with diamonds. $46,500.Dior VIII Grand Bal Fil de SoieChanel¡¯s Mademoiselle Priv¨¦ collection features design motifs associated with Coco Chanel, like the camellia, on artisanal dials. Hi all, I've just joined the forum, i love it :) I've been reading this forum for a while, and I was wondering if some members could help me out choosing a new watch to start my collection, since even though I've been reading quite a bit, i'm still quite new to all this. Not long ago I decided to get a new watch after seeing an Armani watch that I liked, and then I realized that I really like watches so maybe i should start collecting them. So here I start.I saw the Tissot Desire and i loved it, but i am looking for something with a metal bracelet among other things:I am looking for:-roman numbers-under 43mm-metal bracelet (stainless steel, gray and not glossy/shiny)-calendar only, no complications-if possible, dots instead of lines-round or rectangular (not square)-under $350-very simple hand style (I don't like the mercedes style)-if possible, hands that don't glow in the darkSo I found these two:#1 - Classic Dream (I LOVE the hand style)#2 - PR50 QuartzI like the Classic Dream a bi
An old favorite and a new arrival went to the spa, and came back refreshed and looking better than ever:Thanks to Jesse - soon to be the worst kept secret on the forum - for an outstanding job. And I don't mean just cosmetically either. Even though both of these watches were showing some battle scars from 40+ years of use and now look like they just came from Bienne, they were in desperate need of a little TLC on the inside too. Now they run as good or better than new and would coast through COSC standard testing, making a mockery of even modern standards. How's this for a testiment to Omega automatics of the 60's?: The Seamaster caliber 751's largest rate variation is 4 seconds (-1 sec crown down, +3 sec 6H, with dead on accuracy dial up and +2 sec dial down), and the Connie has a mere 1 second variation at worst (-1 sec dial up and crown down, +/-0 sec dial down and 6H). And to think I actually considered selling one or both!
Well here is the first picture or two. Don't have a lot of time today to snap better shots. Love the watch and the textures.
