How many turns per hour - 24 hours?
My Modalo (wind 2+2 and store 6) has arrived.My question:I have set it to wind for 2 minutes in one direction - then 6 minutes pause - then wind in opposite direction for 2 minutes - then 6 minutes pause.A 2 minute period wind gives about 13 turns. If I count right its about 100 turns per hour or 2400 turns per 24 hours.Does that sound reasonable? How many turns per 24 hours do you give your watches? Looking forward to your replies.To comment on some things discussed in my previous thread about magnetism I give this early on info:Its new - so its dead silent when lid is down and my ear is 10 centimeters away. Its new - so nothing falls off so far and my Sinn U1 is about 210 grams. Maybe its only because its new or maybe there has been some amount of product development - compared to early Modalos - the future will show and I will report eventual shortcomings.My question to the Modalo-seller about magnetism is yet to be answered. What did I expect - this isnt Orbita. Best Regards

An interesting idea has come up in the General Discussion Forum in the middle of this thread:http://www.watchtalkforums.info/foru...n-watches.htmlBrad has hypothesized that Hamilton is the best value in vintage watches (particularly solid gold cased versions) and I put Longines up against them. While he may very well be right, it would be fun to do a comparison of average selling prices. I ask only one thing - I will be seriously out numbered so try not to gang up on me too harshly! Now for the basics:- What specific lines do you think we should put head to head? I'll start with the 770 against the 30L / LS. Both calibers were considered the top of their respective manufacturer's line-ups, and of course both were in-house movements. Both also were inside several different series of watches over the years. - How to judge price? We can't use asking prices, but actual selling prices from closed listings on eBay are good data.
