Blancpain 4563-1542-55B wrist watches news:
This Paris based company makes incredible humidors and I have one. In looking into watch winders I found they make some beauties. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with them and how well they work. I know the cabinet will one outstanding but it needs to wind watches too....
Having more self-winding watches than wrists, I picked up a cheap, Chinese, Steinhausen single winder a couple of months ago. I always lusted after a Orbita, but couldn't afford one. Looked on several websites, but too expensive, HOWEVER, I didn't look on Orbita's site. Lo and behold, I found a Sparta 1 Tesla Cherry single for $125 (on their 'scratch and dent' sales) and ordered it. It arrived the day after Orbita went on vacation for two weeks. The winder was DOA when it arrived. I checked the transformer, with a VOM, and found it was producing 0 volts. AFTER Orbita staff came back from vacation, I called and talked with Cheryl and explained my woes to her. That was on Monday 7/13 and she sent out a replacement transformer and I received it today (7/18) and immediately checked it out -- no problem, putting out 24 volts.Plugged it into the winder and waited and waited etc. Tried the on-off position both ways (as there is no positive way to tell on or off). Waited 25 minutes each time -
Born from a collaboration between Japanese engineers and Italian designers the Ingegnere Meccanico (Mechanical Ingenieur) is a prototype conceived to provide a modernly designed time piece that was at the same time classic and practical. The marker and hands design make the time reading quick and easy, the Seiko legendary lumibrite surrounded by chrome frames of the hands and markers make time reading possible in the dark. The high quality stainless steel case looks like well, something mechanicalhence the name at 43mm in diameter and with a slim profile the case is both modern and elegant. 22mm lugs are ready to accept multiple and different straps making the watch ready for the road as for the office The automatic movement provides timekeeping with day and date complications Joking aside, it has been a while since I wanted to do this project. About one year ago I saw a photo of the base watch used for this project and really liked the case. Not that it is special but just it was
Well, I set out with Mrs Van D this afternoon to the Singapore Panerai boutique, deposits paid on a 533 and 312. Have I brought those two watches home tonight? Er, no. So what did I come with? Read on........
On the site here, most of the talk has been about the blue dial, the black and an off white dial. At an AD this week who said there's a silver/ sticks dial available, very much like that on the DJ36; not in stock but I saw it in the dial catalog. Has anyone seen this in the 41?
