- Beautiful watch. Good price. Great service. Happy wife! (Couldn't shorten the band myself so had to take it to a jeweler. That was a little embarassing because I didn't buy the watch from him.)

Hi everyone,Sorry for this long first post!I bought my first Longines, an automatic Spirit (Black) L2.699.4.53.2 (Men's) and received it yesterday. Having read around before purchasing, I know that the model isn't popular, something that seems to be confirmed by being unable to find this series covered in any online manuals at Longines and very few forums, but I really, really liked the design and understated colours. So, I'm really happy! However, two things have confused and worried me a bit and I'd like to ask your advice...1. On returning home from work at about 9.00pm, I unpacked my watch from the box, read the warranty and basic instructions inside the warranty and reset the time and date. No problems, watch seems to be running fine.BUT:In the English "Instructions for use" doc ONLINE here: Instructions for use - Watches - Longines Swiss Watchmakers since 1832Almost every single movement has a big warning...IMPORTANT! Do not change the date or use the pushpiecesA (for the day) or
Hello, newbie here. I'm hoping some one may be able to help. I inherited from my dad a Audemar Piguet gold bracelet watch (attached pics). I remember it from the seventys when my dad would shake it to wind it up. It's now just left in a draw at home so I've decided to sell. Not sure of it's value or where best to sell it. I took it to a local gold merchant geezer who offered me 700 quid but thought it would be best to seek further expert opinions. Any advice I really would be grateful for. Thanks in advance.
Hi All,I recently purchased this nice Breitling manual wind single pusher chronograph. I've been trawling forums to try and find a similar model but with no luck. The case size is 41mm.It looks like an early 40's model, maybe a precursor to the Chronomat? The dial has been restored from what I can see.Kind regards,Paul
Hi Guys, I recently got a new Rolex. aD wound it for me while I was at the store. A month later it stopped after me not wearing it for a day. So I gave it like 40 turns and it was up and running again. I took it off and went to bed. The next day I woke up and I saw it has stopped again. Around 30 minutes after I took it off. I wind it up again and it did the same thing the next day. I took it back to the AD and it is now being sent back to the RSC to have them look at. AD told me I should never wind my watch ever even if it stops since many people break their watch by doing that. AD told me to just wear it for awhile and it will run without winding. Said I might have break the watch by over winding. Not sure if I buy that since I read on here there's a locking mechanism that prevents the watch from overwinding. Is it possible I am not giving the watch enough wind by not moving around enough while wearing it. Thanks !
