- Beautiful watch, and the newer larger size that's currently popular. As an older person, I do have difficulty seeing the tiny little hands on the er dials for Month and Day. I bought if for the skeleton appearance, front and back. Very Nice. If you don't wear it every day, you will have to stem-wind.

Field Mechanical Generations
Greetings,In researching my next watch purchase (khaki field mechanical), I've come across a dilemma. From what I can tell, there are at least 2 generations of the khaki field mechanical (not counting war issues). What some call the first generation has a slightly smaller case 37/38 mm, and the dial and hands are also slightly different (cleaner dial). The second generation is bigger (40 mm case) and has a busier looking dial (well, at least to my eyes, though not a "bad" thing). Is one more desirable or "better"? By the way, the first gen is priced about $75 cheaper than the second. Any comments/insights welcome. I'll also be posting some of my more interesting findings on the forum in another thread.

Seamaster ranchero
Here is an interesteing watch i picked up on ebay, a seamaster in the ranchero case. Some semasters from the 1950's where made with the same movement and encased in the same case as the famous ranchero. This particular one seems to be in excellent condition , with its case never having been polished.. it does need an omega crown, as often the crowns were replaced during service and where reoplaced with generic ones.here is some information onthe omega ranchero for those interested:home.xnet/~cmaddox/omega_ranchero.html
