Double shot....Monday?
Well, a double shot of incoming. The postman brings twice again! Let's open the small one first:Gotta take a few watches to Sam the next time I'm there since I broke my springbar tool. Now I just have to decide which ones get freshened up. Thanks to Scott at timesofplenty - these were all purchased during his 8 hour New Year's Eve sale. Next the bigger package:Looks like I have some more reading to do. I'm hoping this will help with the hand name installment from Horology 101. It's good to be off on Mondays!

Is there a watch that is a "Base" model look....
...that is similar to the look of IWC Big Pilot without the 8 day movement....and the price tag?I know of Panerai Base models...and the IWC BP has a very small date.....any others that have a simple dial with arabic numbers?Thank you

Unbelivable !! Shocked !! A Dynamic Date NOS...
The Dynamic date was my first important watch back in 1996. After 13 years of on and off use and after the last 7 years spent on my dad's wrist,the poor guy is now well beaten.To my disbilief,passing by in front of my local Omega AD today I've spotted a brand new Dynamic date !! Just mint new...NOS !! Price tag was at Euro 732 and I did not want to step inside the AD just to ask if any discount was available. I've just bought a Sinn 656 and I have a Longines on the way from my wife,buying the Omega would just be a symbolic way to remember old times,I would rarely use it !!! ....what to do ??? What a watch !!! I hope is just the heat of the moment.....

Aquanaut second hand material?
Hello everyone at TRF! I wanted to post a quick question to all the Patek experts out here. I was just curious if anyone happens to know what material the second hand on the 5167 Aquanaut is made from? As you can see from the attached picture, it is beautifully bright white but has no luminescence to it at all. Could it be white gold that has been whitened for this effect? It almost looks like plastic, but surely Patek would not dream of using that material in a $20,000 timepiece! Any answers would be much appreciated!Thanks in advance!
