Hamilton Titan I - Owners Tips Wanted!
Hello,I've recently added the first 'Electric' to my Hamilton collection - the 1958 Titan pictured. I fell in love with this watch the first time I saw it, sort of Art Deco meets Space Age (for some reason I've not warmed to the Ventura as much). Aesthetically the black and gold dial is stunning and the Electric/Patent Pending lettering are very cool in my opinion. Also being a Mad Men geek it transports me straight back to the late 50s/early 60s. The other reason I committed to this was the 500 movement - whilst being notoriously difficult to work with and unreliable there is something special about owning and wearing the first commercially available electric watch and all the research/work that Hamilton put into getting it out (albeit rushed) onto the market. All my other Hamiltons are 1940s era with 982 movements which I love but you can't help but admire Hamilton for investing in the 500 and 505 like they did. I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post in, but I see no forum for Universal Geneve. A friend told me to make him an offer for a 18kt gold case Universal Geneve Compax chronograph. It works perfectly and only the crystal has been replaced. It is triple signed and is from the 1939-19410 range according to the serial number.s. What is the value on this watch, and what is a fair offer. I like it very much but don't know much about it. Serial number 708XXX.

Has there been an increase in Nautilus demand?
I have noticed that prices for all Nautiluses have jumped significantly in the last year. 5711's were a few k over list and are now MUCH more than that. 5712's were available at around list and now also very expensive. Annual calendars were undesirable and now also seem in demand. What happened? Vintage market finally helming the more modern market?

DD36 overdue upgrade?
Does anyone else share my opinion that the DD36 is long overdue an upgrade? From what I can see it¡¯s unchanged since 2005 during which time the DD2 has come and gone, the DD40 has been released (inc ceramic link bracelet and new movement) and all sorts of other models including the Datejust (closest relation to the day-date) are now technically in front of whats supposed to be the brands flagship model. Although I¡¯m quite sure good discounts can be had on dd36¡¯s vs other models it has still been subject to all the price rises and a YG 36 is only 10% cheaper on UK list than the equivalent dd40 despite the bigger size and advancements. The only reason I can think of is that there is so much outstanding dd36 stock sitting in shop windows that they have to run it down to the point where they¡¯re not creating an issue for themselves to get rid of it/take them back by releasing a new 36mm day-date. Any other ideas?
