Jaquet Droz has released their donation to the Only Watch auction coming up on November 7, 2015. The unique piece exemplifies what Jaquet Droz is best known for by using the historical technique of paillonné enameling. 1 OF 2 The 43 mm, 18k yellow gold case features a deep red pailloné enameled dial, a technique that was handed down from the goldsmiths of the Renaissance. The motif is created by carefully placing tiny pieces of gold leaf on the dial, followed by the red Grand Feu enamel, which creates the translucent sunburst pattern and intricate trellis-work. 2 OF 2 In addition to the unique dial, the movement features a new silicon spiral, a new material used in the movement of the Petite Heure Minute, and allows for better shock resistance and pressure variations. Help With My Next Purchase
My first post in this forum, been lurking around for sometime. Great idea to start a beginner's thread. Here is my collection so far:1. Panerai 111 - preowned2. Steinhart Nav-B Before purchasing the two above i've researched for about 5 months before pulling the trigger.I really want my next watch to be on a bracelet, chronograph, and under $2K. That's my only three requirements. So far I've looked at the follwoing:1. Omega Speedmaster Professional (prewoned)2. Baume Riviera (8724)3. Rolex Datejust (preowned), which is not chronogrpah4. Fortis B-42 Flieger Chronograph (preowned)I've researched all of the watches mentioned above and just haven't pulled the trigger on one of those. 372 for me and that's all I need. yes 372 is that good of a Panerai. I literally stop buying Panerai since I got my 372. I sold off my 000, 312, 328, 305, 88 and 561.Best regards, James
