Omega Case Backs, Photos Please
One of the touches I really like about my new Omega is the case back. I am fascinated by the resources that go into a part of the watch that virtually no one but the owner will ever see. I find myself admiring it almost every time I put on or take off the watch, which is probably Omega's intention. Drive home the brand image and make you feel warn and fuzzy about it.I've noticed that there are many different case backs, even among Seamasters similar to mine, and I thought it's be interesting to start a thread of photos dedicated to the variety of case backs.Here's mine from a recently acquired SMP 300 Chrono Diver w/ black dial, 213.30.42.40.01.001. What I noticed about this one is that the wave pattern typically found surrounding the Seahorse on other Seamasters is absent on mine. As a result the Seahorse is quite large and has a lot of great detail. A beginner and his"not for beginners" watches!
I think this is a good place to chat about my situation, because i am a beginner in the watch world, and i now own multiple vintage watches. i know that vintage watch collecting is a tough hobby to choose, and you can get burned pretty bad on a lot of them.i was unintentionally thrust into the hobby by my wife's grandfather. i started doing some research after he told me about tuning fork Accutrons last year. I'm a mechanical engineer and i work with electronics, so they naturally appealed to me. I bought myself a Citizen Nighthawk early last year and started wearing it every day. i was officially hooked. I followed it up with a TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chrono in December of last year because i liked it, i hadn't done much research on new watches yet, but i do love the look of it, and wear it most of the time.All of my vintage collection were gifted to me. My Second Hamilton
After getting my Ventura XXL, I started browsing through the Hamilton catalogue and ended up loving the Hamilton lineup. Then it turns out a watch shop nearby carries Hamilton and I ended up looking at them. Well, last week I went back to the shop and ended up getting the X-Wind with CF face and strap. I also got a second strap which is the leather of the older version. I will have to switch it and take pictures to compare.Side by side with the Ventura XXL.And for those wondering, I picked up this on Monday.And this one yesterday. :)

Howard from TZ has done a nice interview with AP's new CEO to clarify many post-SIHH doubts and speculations circulated in the Web lately. Amongst all doubts, it is confirmed that FC will NOT be discontinued (YES!!), and the blue dial 15400 & ROC will go boutique-only, which will make them very exclusive! We will also see some changes to the RC in the near future as it will be 're-imagined'... Very interesting! There is also a clearer insight about AP's short & long term strategy towards pricing and retailer network. Overall a great interview... and I believe AP is in good hand for better sustainable growth
