Voutilainen GMR Watch For 2015
One of my favorite independent watch makers, Mr. Kari Voutilainen, is coming out with at least one new watch this year, and it is the beautiful new Voutilainen GMR as a limited edition of just 12 pieces. The Voutilainen GMR (I believe it is named as such because it combines a GMT function with a power reserve indicator) is a gorgeous addition to the Voutilainen family, combining welcome and familiar aesthetics with a new dark dial which just hints at sportiness.The Voutilainen GMR more-or-less takes the Voutilainen GMT-6 (hands-on here) and adds a power reserve indicator while changing up the GMT indicator a bit. What makes the Voutilainen GMR so useful is that it both allows the wearer to know when to wind the watch, as well as offering a second time zone via the GMT hand. Emergency Mission question
I've long desired to one day purchase a white-faced steel Emergency Mission (though my experiences with the brand thus far make that questionable at this point) My friend, a B2 owner, says that battery service on the EM is $400.00. Does anyone know if this is true?

Pull your hair out watch moment.
RobinO created a thread "Embarrassing watch moments", so do you have a story of wanting to scream and pull your hair out either because of a mistake you made or the involvement of another. I picked up this Seiko 7009a a few weeks ago and I decided that I would use it as my first real attempt at giving a watch a little make over. So I picked up some wet dry paper in several grades 240/400/800/120 and organised my small work area. I removed the crystal & crown & movement from the case and then set about my little project. About an hour into my project I heard a comment "ooh look at the little spinning wheel" followed by my words "don't touch that", but it was too late the little spinning wheel was longer spinning and it was "pull my hair out time". I have put it all back together but it obviously now needs a service as the balance wheel is messed up. Luckily I tried the work on a cheap watch but I was so looking forward to wearing my finished project and now I feel like sickened

A rare situation, is not it?
It is clear that something is happening with the Submariner models as they are being offered at much higher prices than the list price of the official Rolex dealers. All I read are versions and rumors but of course I do not think anyone knows the answer to this increase. I do not think they are about to change the model because there is nothing to do. As for example the Daytona that now comes with ceramic bezel. And the strange thing is that they only increased it by $ 400.-It bothers me that one can not go freely to a dealer and buy what he likes at the official price. Although I believe it would seem that this is handled by Rolex, I can not think of anything else, but I think that something is not working properly.Well this is my humble opinion.
