Baume & Mercier A8688 wrist watches news:
I know no one can say for sure what the new Rolexes will be or look like. But we know there will be new models introduced at Basel in a few days. Have any of you been saving for a new one?
Does anyone know the Hole size of the Hour, minute and second hands(not the length or style) of the Longines Cal.9.32
OK.You have probably all heard the famous adage in property buying "Location, Location, Location.'Well a similar adage holds to watch collecting, but this time it is 'Condition, Condition, Condition!!'Serious watch collecting is about owning a watch that is 'to-day' exactly what it was when made by the original manufacturer. The closer you can buy to that original condition the better. Here are some things to look closely at:1) Franken Watch: This is the very worst type of watch (out side a copy/fake). In this case the watch has been changed (usually the face) completely different to what the original manufacturer intended it to be.In other words no other watch of that model would now look like this. This is usually a face change with different numbers or colour of face.We call this 'a Franken'2) Marriage Watch: Bit like a 'Franken' but in this case an original movement with probably the original dial is fitted into another case (not its original)3) Refinished Dial: This 'may' be a

NOT a hip watch nor one with any collector value but one that I like to wear on occasion (and I did today)Its an old Texas Instruments LCD model from circa 1979. Nothing special nor desirable but I got it a few years ago when my watchguy gave it to me rather than throw it away. A new battery and she is tellin' the time as always. Has a nice retro look to it and the PERFECT watch for playing Space Invaders or eating Gummi Bears lol Feel free to scoff or laugh at it. We won't be offended.
