Hi everybody! As per the title, just bought this Seamaster and it`s on the way. I posted on WUS and Omega forums and hope I`ll have some feed-back here. The previous owner couldn`t tell me a lot about it, just that he bought it in `83 preowned and from then it just lay in his safe, it`s condition looking alike. Nothing about caliber or serial number, he didn`t have or want to have the case open but he said that he has hints that inside is a 562 and that is gold plated. So I just took a blind chance and bid&won it....Now, oppinions. please, regarding my 260 pounds purchase. Bumped the watch this morning while wearing it and didn't notice that the date window surround had popped off and wrapped around the second and minute hands. When I noticed, I pulled the crown and got it loose but the watch wouldn't restart. No hum, nothing. Gave it a few minutes and it restarted.Bummed about the damage, but happy it's running again.Any suggestions for tuning fork watch repair? The watch runs a little slow, so I figure a battery change and service can't hurt. I live near Frederick, MD, but would travel around the DC area or ship the watch for a good shop/repair.Thanks!
I'm trying to locate a particular Seamaster Chronometer in an AD's case that's NOS and have a few questions. The specifics are:41mm caseStainlessOlder style bracelet (still used on Speedmaster)Non-colored stainless bezelBlue or black dial (and I don't care which style hour markers it has)Automatic (chronometer)Here are my questions:Does anyone know what the particular reference # is?Does anyone know the last year this particular version was produced?Did this version ever come as a coaxial? What was the MSRP during its final year of production? If both the coaxial and original versions were available, what were their respective prices? Thanks!
