Breitling A25362 wrist watches news:
Girard-Perregaux has added a Perpetual Calendar to its classically-styled 1966 collection. The 40mm case houses in-house caliber GP033Q0 with 288 components. The caliber uses the Manufacture’s exclusive Microvar variable inertia balance, which is visible through the watch’s transparent case-back. The Girard-Perregaux 1966 collection is named in honor of the Neuchatel Observatory’s Centenary Prize, awarded to the Manufacture in 1966 for its achievements in the field of chronometry. This timepiece features a slightly domed dial with a classic symmetrical layout. Delicate gold leaf-shaped hands indicate the hours and minutes while blued hands mark the day, date and month. The moonphase indicator in gold with blue background appears at 6 o’clock. This piece is available as a limited and numbered edition of 99 pieces in white gold and 99 pieces in pink gold.Technical specifications appear below the images, which may be enlarged with a click.Technical SpecificationsPin
In order to talk about the Smiths Everest watch, one must introduce three brands, two people and one very significant historical event. The Everest, unlike most homage watches, is an homage in name and form, but to two different brands¡as well as to their historical intersection at the highest peak on Earth. You see, in 1953 when Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay made their historical climb to the summit of Everest, they had with them two watches: a Smiths and more famously, a Rolex. At this point in time, Smiths is clearly the more obscure brand. One of the only English watch brands of the 20th century, Smiths designed and manufactured timepieces, including movements, in the UK from around 1945 to some point in the 70's. Since the brand dissolved it is no surprise that Rolex has been able to capitalize on this event, making the fact that a Smith's was on the journey somewhat obscure to the general public. These days, the Smiths name has seen a bit of a resurrection, as it is
I own 20 watches. This is my top 5 in order from 1st to 5th. It has nothing to do at all with price but what I like to look at. I reserve the right to change my top five at any given moment. However, this has been mine for quite a while.
What are you thoughts on the 15300OR black or white dial model? I prefer the black personally but looking more on feedback from owners or previous owners of this model. Don't see many pics or comments of forum. Can it be dressed up and down or its too flashy? Seems resale price of a MINT one is in the same range as the SS 15202 Jumbo. Also which would you rather have, this vs a 15202 jumbo at the same price. FYI. I also have a 5711 and a Rolex sports model in the collection but I like all my pieces to be versatile. I have some hesitation. Not sure if it's too dressy.
I've always considered myself a Royal Oak purist and felt that I could never betray my love for the 39mm original Royal Oak. Well, I was wrong. I just received this gorgeous 15400 and couldn't be happier. This watch is something else in person. Excuse the iPhone pics. More to come.
