Breitling 178 wrist watches news:
Hi Everyone, I am totally new and would like to seek advices.I am interested in buying an Omega watch, after several vendor store visits and google searches I have these in consideration(its all I can afford):omegawatches..1002?type=501$3,900 w/ 18% discount + taxomegawatches/gents..0?type=501$4,500 w/ 18% discount + taxomegawatches/g...3?type=501$4,800 w/ 18% discount + taxomegawatches/ge...?type=501$5,500 w/ 18% discount + taxMy questions are:1. What do the Ref(erence) numbers IE: 212.30.41.20.01.003 mean, are they just a model number? 212.30.41(watch diameter).20.01.003 is very long to be just a model number.2. The watches I look have Calibers 2500 (older, 3 watches above) and 8500 (newer, 1 above), the sales Rep said the newer the caliber the better accuracy and overall performance, which is only typical answer but not correct, right?3. I asked the Rep (she knows nothing, and only wanted a sale) if these Omega watches have 28,800 BPH or 25,200 BPH, she didnt know and other rep fill
After looking through some auctions which ended during the last two weeks I stumbled upon two Wesleys. One had an 987M and the other the 22 jewel 770 movement. Was the Wesley reissued in the 1950s with the 770?http://cgi.ebay.de/HAMILTON-WESLEY-1...QQcmdZViewItemhttp://cgi.ebay.de/Mens-14K-Gold-Ham...QQcmdZViewItem
set this watch up and its now on the winder. getting the moonphase to the right postion required the movement specs for the 7751, luckily eta has every movement in pdf format if you know where to look, so I downloaded them all. for the money, this ended up being a pretty fine dress watch. its a small company that makes nice watches. actually its a one man show.
I downloaded the new spellchecker (it's in the upper right corner of a add post / reply screen - the icon is an "abc" with a check mark under it) and it's a great improvement over the other. You actually have to download something (I read all the fine print, no adware, spyware, etc.), takes about 30 seconds, and after that, when you click the spell-check icon it'll run the checker. One of the best improvements is you can now 'add' to the dictionary as you check. So if it finds a word not found (like Brietling or a user name) you can click 'add' so next time it won't stop there. Much better than the old IMO..I highly recommend downlading it!
I could use some opinions on a vintage watch.I have an old vintage Benrus 15 jewel which is probably a very late 30's model. As you can see from the pics below it has a white dial with rubies and rhinestones for hour markers. It was very popular and a big seller for Benrus back in the day. The case in very nice shape, as are the hands and mechanically it's pretty darn accurate, but as you can see though, the dial is abit of a mess. It has what looks like mold or algae on it, some scratches and a rhinestone is floating around inside as it has come off it's mount. So I'm thinking about a full-on restoration including having the dial painted. Or, I can wait to find a minty version, which are still out there and spend about $200 on one. I spent very little on this watch, because I just wanted to see if I would like it and I do.So, restore, or buy another one?
