For a long time, I didn't know how I felt about pilot's watches. For years, I found myself underwhelmed whenever another in a seemingly endless queue of "me too" models hit the market. Every brand was at it, and I couldn't figure out why. Then, quite by accident, I ended up with one on my wrist, and I finally got it. What followed was an irrational interest in the unusually large,?plain cases, enormous emergency pushers, proud onion crowns, and the bold dials that can be read from a block away (at night). The M¨¹hle-Glash¨¹tte Terrasport I Beobachter is not the easiest pilot's watch to read, but its integer-heavy display gives it an identifiability other more generic layouts sometimes lack. This watch is a simple three-hander with a centrally-mounted seconds hand. With its large 36 mm case, the watch is size under most shows men are today, and on what most women watches are calibrated to UG calls ensures business - which implies that it is supposed to be small and thin. Diver, Black Themes or BLNR?
Thinking about adding one of these three as a true daily wearer to compliment a PP and 44 FC that I have. For the Black Themes and Diver the pricing is fairly close on the pre-owned market, both look good on a bracelet (already have one from previous 42mm AP pieces that I have since moved).The BLNR is completely different both in price and style, but is a contender as I tried one on at my AD recently and actually liked it. This one I would purchase new.And although I realize that this is the AP sub-forum, I value the thoughts of the members here. You have all cost my bank account dearly, but that's a different story Any thoughts on one over the others are appreciated?TIA !
