When I first held the Pebble watch after it arrived, I was not sure how much I was going to like it. Honestly I prefer mechanical watches these days having grown up wearing nothing but digital and analog quartz watches. But, the Pebble is different. It’s not just a digital watch, it’s a connection to your digital life. That is the premise the makers of the Pebble wanted the watch to be at its core. It lets you un-tether yourself from your smart phone, yet still be able to know when something needs your attention. Hello fellow forum members. One of the few reasons I bother taking pictures anymore is to bring them to you! Sure, the family gets their obligatory people pics, but I try to sneak in some wrist shots or Rolex related pics whenever I can to spruce up the forum. So I thought my friend had bought a new Sub. It had a cyclops yet the bracelet was...
brushed AND polished like a new Daytona or YM bracelet. It confused me, as I was never that physically close to him to see it head on. I didn't comment on his new Rolex, I wanted to be casual about it. I was hoping he might say something about it but he didn't. It really surprised me that his new Sub had a polished bracelet. I had seen him 3 times that week and on the 3rd time I noticed something odd about the dial - it appeared to not be a Rolex after all. It seemed to have some sort of eagle design or something like that where the Rolex crown would be and it didn't say Rolex at all after closer inspection. It didn't seem to say anything. I couldn't believe it. It wasn't a Sub after all but a watch that was made to look just like a Submariner. I'm really glad I didn't say something earlier in the week like "You have great taste in watches" or "Nice Sub". My friend dropped my watch!
A friend asked to see my new SD4k when we met for dinner for a guys night out, I handed it to him and went to the bathroom. I came back and he told me he accidentally dropped it! 🤬. At first I only noticed a ding on the lug, and didn¡¯t care to fix it. But then today I saw that the crown has a bite out of it too!! He is willing to pay for it. I will definitely get the crown replaced, but am looking for advice if I should get the lug RE polished¡ªI¡¯d hate to do it but I also hate the feeling that the damage isn¡¯t from me and that I¡¯ll think about it every time I look at it. I live near the Beverly Hills service center. If I take my watch there, will they automatically polish the whole case even if I tell them not to?
