Breitling AB011012/G684 - 134s-a20d.2 wrist watches news:
And I love it.As far as I know a 1959 movement in a 1960 case. Am I correct in believing that "Baume" were the sole importers of "Longines" in the UK at that time ?What I also wonder is if this model had an actual name?A lot to learn and any/all comments welcome.
So this is my latest arrival and if you can believe it I actually won this watch from the Seiko USA website. The contest is still going by the way¡goes thru the end of the year¡here¡¯s the website: Countdown to 2011 | SEIKO WATCH CORPORATION if you¡¯d like to enter. Here are the specs:Model number:SPC061Item Shape:roundDial window material type:antireflective-sapphireDisplay Type:analogClasp:deployment-clasp-with-push-buttonCase material:stainless-steelCase diameter:43 millimetersCase Thickness:11.09 millimetersBand material:stainless-steelBand width:11 millimetersBezel material:stainless-steelBezel Function:stationaryCalendar:DateMovement:Japanese-QuartzWater resistant depth:330 FeetTo be perfectly up honest I probably would not have bought this watch for myself¡at this point I¡¯m only buying automatics¡ but for getting a watch worth about $350 for FREE I am definitely not complaining. So here are my impressions: I love the blue dial¡the blue is very deep and changes color depending
I take all of my vintage watches to a jeweler that I have known for years now, but he sends them out to a watch repairman to do the work that I don't know. I do trust that my jeweler is doing right by me however, because I've taken 4 of my vintage watches to him for various problems such as slow running, fast running and intermitent running and it seems in all 4 cases, they just needed a good cleaning. He charges $65.00 or there-abouts for a cleaning. All 4 watches have come back in good running condition and all are keeping nice time. My question is, is he doing just a dunk cleaning and mass oiling of the movement? I mean for that price, I don't think he is taking apart the movement and cleaning and oiling every part individually and putting it all back together, is he? I know that is the proper way, but that should cost more I believe. And if it only a dunk cleaning and mass lube, is that good enough? I own about 25 vintage watches and most only get worn once or twice a month with some
Some of you are old enough to remember Dylan singing(?) that song back in the '60s.Well two years ago, I made extensive changes in my collection and feel the urge to do so again. There are a couple of watches I have been eying. One is a watch I sold in the last renovation and have the opportunity to buy back. The other is a replacement for my EXPII sans Cyclops. So if there is anything on my list that interests you, I suggest you keep an eye on the sales corner. How about you, do you feel the urge to change some things?Fr. John?
Been reading al lot about SS models being unavailable on planet earth so on a whim went to my local AD this morning to put a deposit on the gmt master II and right in front of me the unicorn seadweller was displayed amongst other pieces. So just saying it was available and could have walked out with it but wore too large for my taste so stuck w my gmt master II game plan. Did I say they had two seadwellers? So much for ¡°rare¡±. Also had a black and white exp II.Granted no Daytona in site aside from a hideous two tone ...Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
