New from Parmigiani: Two Wristwatches Inspired by the Past
Parmigiani Fleurier has unveiled two new limited-edition wristwatches inspired by antique pocketwatches from a collection owned by Parmigiani Fleurier¡¯s parent, the Sandoz Foundation. Both wristwatches are part of Parmigiani¡¯s Toric collection. Find images, prices and wallpaper inside. The pocketwatches that inspired the new wristwatches are on view in New York at the well-known vintage-jewelry and Russian-art gallery ¨¤ La Vielle Russie. They are part of an exhibit called ¡°Mechanical Wonders,¡± featuring 50 pieces from the Sandoz Collection, and running through Nov. 26. Watch lovers will be familiar with many of the items because they are normally on view at the famous Mus¨¦e d¡¯Horlogerie in Le Locle, Switzerland. The first new wristwatch has unusual telescopic hands that get longer or shorter as they rotate around the oval dial. Something I just realized about the Oyster Bracelet
I have noticed before that the Oyster bracelet on my 14060M tapers, but it just occurred to me that this means that each link is unique, and in order to make the bracelet, Rolex must manufacture at least 5 different link sizes, which no doubt makes the bracelet more expensive. Same thing with the cases, the 16610 and 14060M (as far as I know) do not use the same case. I think this makes Rolex special, each model is unique and they don't use interchangeable case parts to keep production costs down. Something to thing about when people bash the Rolex bracelet for being cheaply made.Thoughts?

Dug up an art deco style square watch at my GF's house. The momement is a manual wind and says "Solis" on it, also Swiss made. The hinged case says Emerson W.C. CO, 14k gold rolled gold plate. I imagine that Solis is the make, and Emerson is the case maker. The dial looks like gold leaf with skeleton hands and sub second hand. Any info????

GMT Watch Stop Woes
My Seamaster GMT Co-Axial (cal:2628) doesn't appear to auto wind. It winds OK by hand and keeps accurate time but will not maintain power on the watchwinder or by wearing. Just stops when power reserve is low(after stopping and starting for a while). It's around 3 years old. Looks like it will need to go to the service centre. I was wondering though if it only requires a normal service or if there is something more wrong. Appreciate any comments.
