problem with Chrono24.com Seller lied to customs, watch got seized.
Important warning to all who would think about buying a watch through Chrono24.comI bought a Vacheron Constantin watch using their mis-named "Trusted Checkout" from a "trusted seller"The seller, from Italy, did NOT fill out the required CITES paperwork declaring a crocodile band, so US Fish and Wildlife has seized the package. Given I had sent a bank wire transfer to Chrono24.com because I used their "trusted checkout", I have, of course asked them to refund my money. Help Choosing a Replacement Watch
Although I will ultimately make my own decision, I would like the opinions of the members here.I recently bought a watch made by Philip, a company owned by the Italian Sector Group. I understand that these brands are not well known in the U.S, but they are more popular in Europe. Anyway, I bought the Philip Admirale XL which is a 48mm Chrono powered by the Valjoux 7750. I’m not all that happy with the size. I thought I would like it, but it proved to be top heavy and cumbersome to wear as the bracelet could never be properly sized to my wrist. Here is the watch with a replacement band:Philip admits to a problem affecting some of these watches where the stem won’t release when pulled out for setting and changes the hand position in the winding position, etc. They have been very upstanding and offered me three choices to fix the problem:1.I can exchange the watch for another, identical watch.
