My brand new Milgauss
It's ironic. I waited ages for another Rolex to be added to my collection and then two come along in the same amount of weeks.First of all my Submariner LN was offered to me at one of those too-good-to-turn-down prices and then this gorgeous Milgauss was offered at an even sillier discount. I obtained it through an AD but it is actually an unwanted long service award. Boxes were unstamped and the protection stickers were all complete.I've always preferred the white dialled version so I couldn't be happier.

Different tiers within the Hamilton line?
I've been looking at a lot of new Hamiltons recently, and they seem to range from mineral crystal, quartz movement field watches to sapphire crystal, precious metal automatics, with stops about everywhere between.Are the mineral crystal, quartz movement watches still of good quality? I would assume that they are along the lines of maybe a Seiko? I used to think a sapphire crystal was necessary, but I think for a daily wear watch that will be worn to and from work and in the office, a mineral crystal is probably just fine.As for quartz versus auto or manual wind, unless it's a dream watch, I think I'd prefer quartz. If I'm spending $100-$250 on a watch, I don't really want to pay to have it serviced. I do want add one nice automatic to my collection, and am really liking the Hamilton open heart with a brown face. I like that there's no date, because I'm likely to let an auto run down, and would then only have to set the time when I put it on. Besides, my eyes are getting to the po
