Breitling Steel/Gold wrist watches news:
Habring2, the watch brand founded by the man behind the movement used in the IWC Doppelchronograph, has announced a very limited run of their Doppel 3 split-second monopusher chronograph. Made especially for the French language watch forum Horlogerie-Suisse, this limited edition run is comprised of just five pieces and bears a distinct dial design that will set it apart from the already exceedingly rare "standard" Doppel 3 chronograph.Like the standard version, this limited Doppel 3 utilizes the A08MR hand wound monopusher chronograph movement. Based on a Valjoux movement, the A08MR incorporates a specialized module designed by Richard Habring that significantly changes the movement to offer the split-second capability and monopusher operation. The pusher at two can start, stop and reset the chronograph measure while the pusher at ten activates the split function. The Doppel 3 has a 42mm stainless steel case and a dual anti-reflective sapphire crystal. Hi,I am wondering if anyone has any information regarding the line of watches Longines has created that feature the Crest of the Jordanian Royal Family? I have found one for sale, which the seller claims to be from the 1990's, but the only other ones I can find originate in the 1960's. Here are some that I have found:Vintage Longines King Hussein Of Jordan Watch For Sale | Vintage WatchesA 1960s gold Longines watch from King Hussein of Jordan: ¡ê475The store where the seller claims the watch was purchased, Karnig Co. Ltd in Jordan seems to check out, they are an official Rolex seller. The reason I am curious as to it's authenticity is the comparatively low price being asked for it. I'm new to watch collecting and I am suspiscious, perhaps overly so, of anything that seems to be too cheap and also of buying watches off the internet. Thanks,Sean
Went to an auction today, picked up some scrap silver for the hoard and 2 neat little watches for CHEAPFirst is a 1954 (L4) Bulova. What drew me to it were the lugs and bezel, quiet snazzy! It doesn't have a crown, if someone knows where to get one and how to put a new one on, mind helping a newbie? I forgot to take a shot of the movement, but it's very clean and shiney! I have high hopes for itNext is what I think is an Elgin pocket watch. It's in very rough shape, but it's interesting. The main thing of interest is the dial. I'm not sure if you can see it, but the middle has some sort of imprint or something decorative. It's much more 'fancy' then most other dials I've seen.I can't get the back off, I've tried to pry it off or screw it off, but neither work. The front bezel screws off though.I can see something like 'Elgin' on the little square on the center. Has anyone seen a dial like that? And could it be salvaged?
I've ordered one of these, but they have a very liberal return policy and I find myself doubting my purchase one minute and liking it the next. I ordered the non-chrono version because I thought it had more of a vintage look. So please, don't hold back and give me your opinions, preferably with specific reasons you do or do not like it. I am tired of flipping, and while I wear a watch about 90% for myself, there is also about 10% of me that cares what others think (working on making that 100% me 0% others, but I AM human after all).Mt. Has anyone tried any of the 21mm Aqua Terra bracelets on the Speedmaster Coaxial 9300?I've never been a fan of the Speedy bracelets. I'm sure some will think I'm crazy but that debate is for another day--and thread. The new Aqua Terra GMT models have 21mm lugs. Has anyone tried? Ofrei sells them but it's a 4-6 week wait. Auction seller has one but they want 10% restock. Any other ideas? I want this bracelet...On this watch...
