Breitling AB 0131 wrist watches news:
When you think of the watches coming from New Zealand-based Magrette, you might be tempted to write them off as "seen one, seen them all." While it is true that they follow a particular design style, there are some interesting variations across the lineup (not to mention the heavily-engraved series). Their latest, the Magrette Regattare Carbon, definitely ups the ante for the brand. As you might surmise from the name of the watch, carbon fiber makes its debut here for the brand. Rather than just slapping a CF dial on the watch and calling it a day, Magrette has gone?in a much more interesting direction: they created a 44mm forged carbon case (yes, just like Linde Werdelin?and Audemars Piguet). This alone makes for an interesting change up, as they commonly have featured steel cases in the past (with one notable brass/bronze case). As would befit a case with this mix of strength and lighter weight, the non-carbon bits you can touch (caseback and crown) are made from titanium, and the crys
In November of 2012 the United States will hold another presidential election and if you are like me you are wondering, "what watches are the candidates wearing!?" Fortunately I don't vote based on watch preferences - which would be silly in this country because the watches our candidates wear are actually political signals these days. And by the way, my interest in the watches politicians wear is purelynot political.President Obama has been wearing the same watches for several years - being the Jorg Gray JG 6500 watch that I reviewed here. Obama is fiercely loyal to the watch having worn it since he was campaigning back in 2008. It was a gift from the secret service, which in turn ended up being a gift for Jorg Grayfrom a business perspective. Click on the link above for the full story on what happened with Barack and his Jorg Gray timepiece. It has become Obama's distinctive watch, and he is seen wearing it most all the time when he is in a suit.I don't know when it started but I wil
She's a Stone Cold Fox - ehh, urhhhr, the watch. Yeah, thats right, I was referring to the watch. Sure...Love this new ad. I'm not sure I've ever seen this one before but I'm awfully glad I did. An ad like this makes me wish: I had more money to buy a watch like this and hold on to it to give it to just the right gal one day. I had a girlfriend or wife that looked like Lindsay Vonn. And that this cute DJ was on her wrist when we went out tonight :o). Yes, the DJ with this dial is more cute than beautiful, to me. Cute as a button, just like well, you get it I'm sure. Rolex. They sure know the heck what they're doing, whether you like this bizarrely pop dial or not.
I came across an old thread stared by Boscoe. I found it to be super brilliant, in the spirit of that thread, I would love to start a new one and see where she takes us.Ever wonder what your watch says about you? Here is my opinion on the various brands. Feel free to chime in and add your own opinions.Rolex: I have the best watch and no-one can tell me otherwise, all else is junkOmega: I always liked Rolexes when I was young and still do but decided to get a nice watch minus the Rolex StigmaInvicta: I want people to think my watch is something it is not.Movado: I don't know much about watches but movado is top notch, it cost me one thousand dollars so it must be the best.Breitling: I liked Rolex when I was young, now I just want to be flashy without being a Rolex snob even though I could have bought a Rolex.Patek: I need only impress my peersGlasshute: I'm a watch buff and need to only impress those that knowPanerai: Paner-what? That thing is hugeSeiko: I'm cheap but like a well built w
Just wanted to share a pic of 45.5 black/black PO. I didn't like the watch when I first bought it but have really grown to like a lot. The thing I love most about the watch is that after almost 3 years of wearing constantly and having to rewind it maybe 4-6 times, it literally keeps perfect time from the start. I can't even say it is a quarter or half second off because after all this time it is still within a 30 second window of the time on my cell phone. To me, it makes it all that more valuable just because I have never owned a watch that is that spot on. I really don't think I could rid of it even if offered a premium. I know Rolex gets all the love, but I hear people being totally happy with +1 or -2 a day and mine is considerably more accurate. Anyone else have the success out of their 8500 movement in any of the models?Just to note, I have an approx. 7ish wrist and I think this size wears fine on me if anyone is thinking about obtaining the bigger version for themselves.p
