The Clerc Hydroscaph H1 Watch Now On A Bracelet
Clerc?just recently released a new version of their excellent entry-level Hydroscaph H1 chronometer diver (you can see our review here). ?So what makes this model noteworthy? ?Primarily, it's the bracelet, which is something we've not seen on the the line before.From what I've been able to ascertain, the bracelet continues on with the same focus on comfort, courtesy the articulating lugs. I personally like how it seems to carry on both the brushed finishes, as well as the bevels, that we see in the top bezel (and, for that matter, the indices on the dial as well).While the bracelet will likely serve to enhance the boldness of the piece (read: ?a big watch just got a bit bigger), the lines of the bracelet look to be a perfect complement to the overall looks of the Hydroscaph.This new edition also tones things down a bit on the dial front, with more of a midnight blue taking center stage , with a lighter blue minute hand paired to a grey hour hand. ?This may not necessarily be of benefit

(Re) Dial Options
Over the next couple of months I hope to make a start on getting some tired dials refinished. I've noted that there seems to be a range of options, especially when it comes to luminous dials.....I think all of us could benefit if those that have been through the process could reply with images of the various refinishing options, not just luminous. Plus - what else should one know when lodging a watch for refinishing? (One tip mentioned previously is to ensure you send the hands and the watch face together). How detailed do you have to be? What are the traps for young players? Do you need to look at Tom's post of the dial options and specify which one you want? Or is it sufficient to request "Refinish as original" knowing the refinisher will do the right thing?What is the cutoff date for refinishing - ie is there a time after or before which the refinisher cannot help you with that model?Are watch dial refinishers different to watch dial restorers? 5205R black dial or white dial ?
Hi friends, just wanted to see preferences, I plan on placing a deposit on a 5205R but not sure what dial, I'm split 50/50 between the black and white. What would you take ?
