Hey guys...just came across this speedy pro on the bay...with a 316XXXXX movement from the early 70'sthe guy later( after i emailed him) edited the listing and added Buyer should satisfy him/her self as to the date of manufacture of the dial, hands and caseback.I did email the seller and inform him that the movement and the dial were more than 30 years apart and i was told to mind my own business.Here is the link

That was a good trip!
Went to see my watchmaker today, and he delivered on his promise of some interesting watches for me. First he showed me a rectangular 18K yg manual wind engine-turned dial Omega from the late 70's, then a great 18K rg (20 pennyweights of gold in the case! - that's almost $700 at scrap value even after the $50 drop per ounce in the last day) Bucherer chronograph with a Frederic Piguet mecaquartz hybrid movement. Okay, he's got me really interested with both of these, but there not quite jumping on my wrist for some reason. I don't understand why since I really like both brands but no big deal he's got a couple others to show me. Next is a Baume & Mercier SS chronograph with gold Arabic numerals at a great price too! But the last one floored me, and he knew it would - a late 50's SS IWC dress watch with the manual wind calibre 89. It's kind of Bombay-style lugs, but a little thinner and not as curved. HiI had the chance to try out my friends Sub C today and I took the chance to take some photos with my Iphone together with my Planet Ocean Liquid Metal. Both are beutiful and great watches, but I am still happy that I got the PO LM instead of the Sub C, it just looks more modern and have nicer details IMHO. Enjoy the pics

they do come in batches... happy to add mine to the few deliveries on the forum that have happened recently.Absolutely love the watch. To me its big, without being overwhelming. Its sporty and casual and can also be dressed up too. In some ways its my most versatile watch. If i had to go somewhere in one trip and was going to the beach, somewhere where i would be wearing a suit, and then out on the town and could only take one watch, this would be the one. All the best complications combined into one watch.

Should rolex introduce a diver with a day & date?
i would like to hear some thoughts on this. as many desk divers exist i think it is quite interesting.wonder what it could looks like...
