The Forum's First Wakmann
I've looked all over for a reference on the forum for Wakmann watches but there isn't any. So here is mine: This watch was given to me about 20 years ago. He had it when he was going for a private pilots license. I've had it repaired once but died on me right in the middle of a trip to Japan (maybe the aura of all those Seikos and Casios killed it ). Anyway, As I understand it that Wakmann's are Breitling's under American license. I don't see any markings on the movement that suggest that this particular watch is but that doesn't matter to me. This watch was the first watch to suck me into the dark depths of Chronographs.

If you can watch televsion programming on line, NBC San Diego is is going to have a report on their 11:00pm news tonight about counterfeiting. They're not going to be talking about "homage" anything, but rather those items which are flat-out fakes, and how they help finance terrorism, the drug trade, etc.Being so close to Tijuana, obtaining fake watches, purses, clothing, etc, is pretty easy to do. It's a 20 minute walk across the border, forty bucks, and a 20 minute walk back.Here's the link to the station: NBC San Diego. The guy doing the report is known as "Consumer Bob".I have to leave for the airport early tomorrow morning, so I'll likely be asleep already, but I plan on recording it so I can watch it when I get home next week...

Speedy Pro "Tintin" has arrived...
Hey all,Well, despite the lack of love for the Speedy Pro Racing dial known as the Tintin, I've been hooked on it since it was announced. I first saw it in London about a year ago but held off due to other recent buys. Well, the fire was stoked again recently...even more so when I found it was already out of production. When I started to re-research it, I found very little info likely due to the ugly reviews...including some on here. Well, the dial sung to me and I had a real hunch that it would play well on a NATO. I really dislike the Speedy Pro bracelet and feel it draws one's eyes away from this pretty, painted dial. I've had her on my wrist for 4 days straight since arrival!Look for her on fratellowatches this coming week as my new piece will be featured. Can anyone suggest any dealers near NYC/NNJ? I know there are a lot in the diamond district but I always prefer going to dealers that people have actually dealt with personally.
