Patrizzi & Co. Geneva Auction Brings Over $6.2 Million
In the month leading up to the Patrizzi & Co. auction on October 25, more than 3,500 people visited the house’s web site each day to research items included in the sale. On sale day in Geneva, about 60 bidders were present in the auction room and another 45 participated online. 70% of the 253 lots were sold in two sessions, achieving CHF6,345,600 or about $6,230,525. Bidders from Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the USA were present in the auction room. The top selling brands were Patek Philippe, Cartier, Rolex, and Panerai. Modern pieces from Ulysse Nardin and TAG Heuer also sold very well. Here is a cool idea that is more than just a concept, but actually being done right now. Pictured above is the "Green Watch" and it is part of the la Montre Verte City Pulse project currently taking place in Paris France. It was started by the FING (Fondation Internet Nouvelle Generation) The project's goal is to create a system to measure air and noise pollution in urban centers, eventually learning how to create environmentally sustainable cities. There are currently three prototype Green Watches being worn that have air and noise sensors. The watches collect information and use a mobile phone that the wearer has to transmit information back for the database. What you get is map as seen below that measures in extreme detail the areas of the highest noise and air pollution in the city.The project aims to have 1000 Green Watches in Paris that will constantly be measuring the environment. Will there be a huge price increase for the new Aqua Terra. I'm able old purchase the older Aqua Terra for 2200.00 from the military exchange. However, I really like the look of the new AT. I also like the Rolex Air King and the IWC Spitfire. Which has the best movement.The price for the Air King is very high.
