This Bring A Loupe will be dedicated entirelely to everyone's favorite complication, the chronograph. You will find an extremely rare (and very exotic looking) Zenith El Primero, the reference G383, produced in only 200 examples in 1970. We also scoured eBay in order to find some relatively affordable chronographs, most of them under $1,000. As you might expect, no Heuer or Universal Geneve made it this week given our budget constraint, but you will discover some other really exciting watches from Wittnauer, Minerva, and Mathey-Tissot. From dr. bruno's blog, 1/5/08: Researchers Terms Wristwatch Ban for Doctors as ¡°potentially Dangerous¡±Hospitals are about to implement a ¡°bare below the elbows¡± dress code policy for doctors, which includes a ban on wristwatches. But researchers in this week¡¯s BMJ warn that this could be potentially dangerous in a clinical setting.There is no evidence that wristwatches are carriers of infection, and little account has been made of the clinical benefits of the wristwatch, write James Henderson and Sarah McCracken.Most beds and examination couches in hospitals do not currently allow sight of a clock, so they set out to assess the dependence placed on wristwatches.Twenty appropriately trained staff were asked to evaluate different pulse and respiratory rates on a simulated patient without the use of a second hand. Participants were given as much time as they wanted to make their estimate.

Hi all,Does anyone have insight about the limited edition Seamaster made for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer?Apparently only 194 were made (194 full size and 194 mid size).While the technical specs are nothing special, I am wondering if being a limited edition of less than 200 will make it attractive price wise.What do you think it should fetch (box, no papers, no leather straps)? Has been worn but is otherwise in good condition.Any feedback is appreciated.
