Breguet Type XXI 3813 In Platinum For Only Watch 2015
Here is a one-of-a-kind Breguet pilot watch that has been made for the Only Watch 2015 auction event that will take place in Geneva this November. We don't take much stock in watch auctions, but we like to make an exception for Only Watch when it at least comes to noticing the lots available ¨C since each of them are, by the rules of the event, "unique." For Only Watch 2015, Breguet has produced this platinum-cased, vintage-inspired version of one of my favorite pilot watches, the Breguet Type XXI 3810 series. Specifically, they call the watch the Breguet Type XXI 3813 with the reference 3813PT/G2/3ZU.According to Breguet, this is the first time they have produced a Breguet Type XXI model in platinum. Still, this type of watch would decidedly fall into the category of "stealth wealth," because of its attractive yet unassuming retro pilot-inspired look, complete with vintage-style leather strap and "aged-style" sand-colored luminant on the dial. Are these the correct spring bars?
Recently bought an early 118239 from a reputable seller. Had it checked out by the watchmaker at my AD and he said it was in good shape, authentic, etc. but that he thought it might have spring bars from an older watch, like a 18239. He said the spring bars are authentic and Rolex, but there is a little bit of wiggle where the bracelet meets the case and it should be tighter. His feeling was that they were a little bit thinner than they should have been, and the notches didn't line up correctly.This is a P serial with the older style clasp, heavy President bracelet.The merchant sent me a new set of spring bars, and before I drive 45 minutes to see if my guy can put them in, I wanted to see if they seemed correct to the experts on here. Can you take a look, please? They are definitely white, please excuse the distorted color in photo.Thanks!
