Vintage Pocket Watch Questions
My father bought this watch in the '40's and I've had it for the last 35 years or so. It's a steel cased watch about 43 cm diameter. I've kept it in a box and only looked at it occasionally, never carried or used it. A few weeks ago I pulled it out and popped open the case. It's got a 1941 serial number (616XXXX) and the inscription "15 Jewels 5 Adj." on the movement. It also has the inscriptions "21486" and "162" stamped on the inside of the case back. Also stamped are the numbers "62" and "2".Does anyone know what these numbers stamped on the case mean?Thanks.

The FedEx guy dropped off my new edition today! I was so excited I forgot about my lodge meeting tonight and a few other chores that had been planned!I tore open the box and got that sucker on my wrist asap!!! A little big out of the box, so I decided to take it to a local AD and have them adjust the band one full link removed and I was good to go!Oh, and a couple of you guessed it right away like it was tough! Watches At the Gym
Anybody bothered by people who wear watches on bracelets or leather straps at the gym? Plastic, rubber, and nylon is a different story. It might sound petty, but man does it bother me.

Quartz Royal Oak Battery Change
My wife has a 33mm RO Quartz and the battery is now dead. I need some advice on how to go about getting a new battery. The forum here says:10. Stay away from a RO Quartz as changing the battery is something that needs to be done every 2-3 years. To change the battery you need to disassemble the whole watch. Remove the bezel, dial, hands, crown, etc. to access the movement and then replace the battery. If done by an independent there are a ton of things that can go wrong. Then again you will need to have AP do it and it gets really pricey even when it's just a battery change as they will still force you to do a periodic service.I would prefer not to send it in to Clearwater and skip the periodic service, is this something that my AP AD can do?thanks
