Cartier W7100057 wrist watches news:
We found another watch that my Grandpa had tucked away in his things. It's a Gruen and I'd really like to know how old it is and any other information about it. At the bottom of the dial it says "Ra swiss Ra" what does this mean? The watch is working and since i started it around 6 last night it is keeping time just about to the second. One thing that bothers me is that the crown is very hard to wind. I think i may have got it to make 3 or 4 complete revolutions and then its just to hard to turn. To my surprise it was still running this morning. I'm thinking it needs to be serviced but I'm not sure when I'll be able to get that done. How much do you think a watch like this would cost to get serviced? I spent some time cleaning it up, it was really dirty. I also cleaned up the crystal with some Novus 2 and got a lot of the scratches out, still needs more polishing though. Also, I removed the bracelet, it was not in good shape and i had to forcibly remove one of the spring bars because
Every new watch purchased comes in some sort of packaging. For some its a flimsy cardboard box with maybe a bit of foam and a hang tag. For others it is a burlwood treasure chest with brass lock and tailored cloth covered padding. And who doesn't remember those long clear plastic snap cases Swatch watches came in back in the 80s? Packaging does have importance to manufacturers or else it wouldn't be there. Packaging costs money that could go into the watch. I've always found it interesting when a modest $200 watch has impressive packaging/storage box. And I have to admit some disappointment that the box of a Rolex is little more than injection molded green plastic with a synthetic suede watch pillow. My query for you is, does packaging matter to you? If so, how much?
Gentlemen and Ladies,Been lurking on the forums for some time, but breaking out with my first post. I've been seriously considering a new (used) AP Perpetual Calendar in platinum. The openworked platy perp is a grail of mine, but still beyond what I want to pay for a watch. A version similar to this link (but not a Muhammed Ali special edition) has come up, but without papers or box. Cert of Origin can be obtained from the manufacture, and seller is willing to obtain it as part of the sale. I love the platinum, love the crystal back, love the perp calendar, but not completely convinced about the textured dial. I know its completely subjective, but what are your thoughts? For reference, current collection includes PP 5980, AP ROO Safari and JLC Master Compressor Chrono - I seem to have gravitated towards chrono sports watches. Part of purchase would involve trading in the current AP ROO for the perp calendar. Also, if the watch is to be sent in to the manufacture for a CoO, wou
Since the 16610LV is almost kinda old school now with the Ceramic LV so widely popular ( and gorgeous ) do you prefer the 16610LV with rehaut or not?My first LV a Z didn't have it and like an idiot I sold it. Kinda miss the older school feel of no rehaut. However my current darn near daily wearer an M does have it and I think I finally prefer it. How about you guys?First my old Z. Awful picture. Sorry. Then my M.
Hello,I've purchased out of state in the past and had items shipped to my house to avoid tax in a state that I don't reside, but I'm thinking about purchasing from an AD in my state and possibly shipping it out of state. Has anyone done this? How does it work? Thanks in advance!
