Cartier Cartier 25299 wrist watches news:
Calling in after a few years absence!I guess there'll be many new faces but I hope a lot of old ones, too.And Milos - now Moderator - how are you, my old friend? These days, as an ever ageing septuagenarian, it's just the one timepiece for me but one that makes me happy.I'll be sure to call in from time to time but, meanwhile, good wishes to you all!
Took a gamble on this on eBay. The seller on provided 3 blurry photos and didn't answer the questions I posted. But he did accept a very low offer I figured at worst, I recover my costs with the gold, if the case were bent beyond repair. But fortunately, the dial arrived looking very nice and the case, with a bit of buffing looks rather spiffy. The Henslee had a long run from what I understand, so I'm guessing the mid-50s? I see it listed in the 54 catalogue. The watch is 14k gold and the markers are listed as 18k gold. The movement is the trusty 680, adjusted to 4 positions.
I want something like the Rolex Explorer II without the price of the Rolex. I have 800.00 to spend.Needs to be all stainless steel also. Thanks..
Hi all - Haven't had the opportunity to hold in person the AP Diver SS (or any of the AP divers for that matter) - Can I get a brief explanation of the timing bezel. 1. It appears to me that it rotates internally, would that be correct?2. If that is the case is the crown at the 50 (10:00) Position controlling that function and is it a screw down crown - can it be manipulated while under water?3. Anyone have any real dive experience with this watch or is the consensus that you just don't go there with this piece. I DO dive with my Rolex Sub.Thanks!Brian
If honest I've never really paid too much attention to Omega - until I saw the Sedna gold Seamaster Planet Ocean! I really liked this piece and, when via a contact from a good chum on TRF I was offered a decent deal on one, I went for it.I love it, its a superb piece. Big, yes, but I'm used to, and like, big watches and, in all honesty, it doesn't feel big on the wrist. The ceramic dial is lovely too, with a beautiful shine, which the double AR'd crystal exposes to good benefit. Its certainly made me a potential fan of Omega and I appreciate the fact that you get more for your money than with Rolex, a brand which in my view is over priced and over hyped. The Omega presentation is awesome too. The fantastic wooden case is way better quality than Rolex and I'd even say better than with AP.
