Hey guys !I kind of gave you guys a sneak peek of this Elgin the other day but it was not fully assembled, I was still doing some final testing.Well, testing is now complete ! ! !This one might just be my Elgin masterpiece ! ! ! ! I snagged this one down under in Australia. This is a 1918 Elgin Trench Watch, 15 jewels, grade 464, size 3/0s with a bold Roman numeral RED XII dial. The enamel dial is in near perfect condition and these are the correct hands for this dial. The RED XII is gleaming ! ! ! ! The movement has been completely taken apart and cleaned, brand new mainspring, timing is almost perfect (+15 seconds per day).Quite rare Illinois Watch Case Company semi-hermetic case with swivel lugs, solid nickel ! ! ! Case measures 45mm lug to lug and 35mm without the crown, this is HUGE for a size 3/0s case, about 4mm larger than normal 3/0s trench cases.Notice the deep well bezel ! ! !You only see maybe 2-3 of these cases per year, $$$.As I mentioned in the teaser my friend Dave just fa
Looking for a metal band, black dial, and blue bezel. 300$ or less. Thanks for the help.
Hoping the fine folk on TRF can help me or point me in the right direction, Mr Ed Sheeran has been wearing his PP cap on his current world tour and has kind of made me want one! I should hopefully get the call for my 5167 this year but until then I need to fill the PP hole in my life and I think a cap could just do that. I don¡¯t suppose anyone has one for sale?
I've been looking at them for some time & I think I want one. If I do get one it will be preowned. My dilemma there seems to be way too many different models. I've been looking at titanium models with brush bezels. Since I don't own any titanium watches I also like how titanium seems to be a little more grey than SS. I'm not opposed to a SS model as long as it were all brushed. I know I don't want a date model with the cyclops. Basicly school me or point me in the right direction to school myself!! Thanks in advance
