BALL Watch Company had a number of new watches on display during Baselworld this year. The company continues to push forward in its use of tritium tubes (micro gas tubes) for luminescence (a BALL trademark) as well as innovation in anti-magnetisim. They also keep in touch with their watchmaking roots in their releases by updating designs from the past. We have a selection of a few highlights from BALL that touch on these elements.The Engineer II Volcano introduced at Baselworld is deceiving at first glance given it's simple design. The Dial has stick markers with the expected BALL micro gas tubes on the markers and hands for extended legibility. It has a BALL RR102-C chronometer certified automatic movement at the heart of the watch which can withstand impacts of up to 5,000 Gs and is water resistant to 100 meters. I must suffer from total purism...
My personal preference is to keep my watches with the original factory settings...I can think of one instance where I would definitely switch a strap of a watch and that is when a "factory-configured" gold case watch comes on a black leather strap then I will consider a brown strap but keeping similar attributes of the original, e.g leather type and style. But my friends, I must say that slapping a 30 dollar, nylon strap on a 10-15K dollar watch makes my stomach twitch! I will observe quietly from my corner, shake my head and remind myself of a popular saying in latin America "cada loco con su tema" or every madman to his own desire!

Issue with my 5960/1A
Well¡­with the recent bout of Patek watch issues, I guess it was just a matter of time before I am hit.I have a 2015 5960/1A - Annual Calendar Flyback Chronograph Power Reserve and Day / Night indicator which started having this particular issue a couple of days ago:It runs fine but when I pull out the crown to make any adjustment, the Power Reserve automatically drops to empty. Also I have been suspicious that the rotor is not winding the barrel. I have to manually wind the crown to bring up the power reserve indicator. Luckily it is under warranty so will ship off to NYC service center soon but have any of you experienced the same issue? Is there anything I can do to correct it on my own?

Is this full set correct for Sea Dweller 16600?
I recently purchased an F serial Sea Dweller with a full set. Can the experts please comment on the accuracy of the items included in the full set. Papers are dated 2-9-05. Thanks!!(apologies for landscape photos. Couldn't figure out how to make them vertical)
