Cartier W6206017 wrist watches news:
Most wristwatches made today are hardly state-of-the-art, but rather continue a tradition of watch making set in motion long ago. One reason many collectors are interested in vintage watches is because many of them represent important achievements in technology and functionality that we take for granted today. watches-dealer has done its homework and brought to you what we feel are the top 10 most technically important mechanical wrist watches. By the 1920s, consumers had accepted wristwatches as practical and pocket watch sales had started to decline dramatically. By 1930, the ratio of wristwatches to pocket watches was about 50:1.During the past 100 years, the mechanical wristwatch has seen many changes, even seeming to come close to demise. Important electronic watches will merit a list unto themselves.? Hello!I'm new here. I just purchased my first Omega, a Teak Grey Aqua Terra Chronometer 41.5mm. I LOVE the look of the watch and am really excited to own an in-house movement. I have ready many wonderful reviews of the 8500. However now that I have my piece I'm disappointed that it is running at the extreme end of the COSC spec at 6~7sec/day. I'm not sure what todo? Does it take time for the movement to settle down? The watch is 2 months old. I'm interested in others thoughts/experiences, especially other 8500 owners. I have read of others getting 1~2sec/day watches pretty routinely. However I'm hessitant to send it in and have it opened up and wait 6-8 weeks. Thanks for your advice.Andy
At what point did watch collectors, accumulators, and appreciators become so obsessed with accuracy??There is alot of talk on the WTF and other fora of a newfound appreciation of vintage timepieces.Even though they are not very accurate by the "accuracy-holics" (or even COSC) standards they are appreciated. Many fail to remember that even when these vintage pieces were new (and I am talking autos, mechanicals, electrics, and tuning forks) they failed to keep the accuracy standards that many today seem to find important. Not so long ago it was fine to enjoy your timepieces of choice and set it ,every so often, when you found it to be off by a few minutes. (How did we even know??)All of a sudden we are all so time oriented that a few seconds a day is a major issue!!What's the deal??I like , more and more, the dial designs of Panerai,Glycine and my Hamilton Brookethat don't bother me with chapter rings. How often do we ask the question " you mean these things tell time??"as we measure the accura
I do not know if this is ok , but do you think panerai will bounce back after what has happened as of lately with the price decreases .
