- I like to collect different and classy watches. I have 7 or 8 and I switch almost every day. This will be one that people will notice and ask about. And I will tell them it is a Swiss Railroad Watch.

Hey guys!I've been busy all day going through the watches/movements that I bought at the NAWCC last week and this one was next in line. Most of them were in very good overall condition and just needed to be cleaned (except for this one). At first glance you're probably thinking that this one needs to go into the scrap bin! MANY of the parts are rusted beyond belief and the movement is seized up. This is a 1925 Elgin, 15 jewels, grade 464, size 3/0s. So, do you think that this one is savable ? ? ? I personally think that tossing out a 15 jewel Elgin is a crime without giving it a shot! You guys know that I am a glutton for lost cause watches. I was on the phone with another forum member last week and we agreed that you could probably shave with an electric razor over one of these Elgin movements and that it would still keep on running. It's a workhorse ! ! ! So, will it run or not ? ? ?So, after about an hour's worth of work several parts have been replaced and a lot of rust and dirt ha

I noticed a tiny fleck or something attached to the inside of the sapphire crystal of my 210 so I sent it back to the gray jeweler I purchased it from (bnib complete set). When they returned it I noticed that the back side of the case was deeply scratched. (you can tell it was made by whatever tool they used to pry off the case back bezel(?). They freaking denied doing the damage first off, and then told me they never opened the case back (that it was simply a dust particle on the outside of the glass, which it 100% was NOT). Anyway, they took it back to polish out their scratches, but not all came out. There are still a couple scratches that won't come out. Although it is on the underside of the watch, and no one would ever see it unless I took it off and flipped it over and showed them, it still bugs me that they did this (and then lied). Now, I have still been talking to them about this and they agreed to let me trade it back in towards another watch. A 183 bnib + a few hundred
