Has your taste in watches changed over time?
Guys I was wondering what moves you in a particular direction when choosing a watch and in particular how your tastes may have changed over time. Naturally aesthetics would be the main reason for choosing a watch but one's perception of beauty or desirability changes over time. I know mine has. When I first started out on my journey through WISdom, I favoured classic styles. Then I began exploring sports watches and these were primarily divers since divers are by and large, the most obvious of sports styles.

I'm trying to think of a good Speedmaster/moon trivia question to get everyone thinking, but I have a feeling many of you know all the answers. Hmmm. How about this instead: In my other post I mentioned the Aldrin Speedmaster, possibly the most sought-after watch in the world, certainly among Speedmaster collectors. If that watch were to surface in the hands of a private owner, and its whereabouts became known to NASA, Aldrin, the US govt, etc, who is the rightful owner of the watch? I am sure this has been discussed before, but it could make for interesting discourse. Opinions? I'll begin by stating that NASA is the rightful owner UNLESS Aldrin can produce a document assigning ownership to him. the case and dial felt quite big for its 42mm diameter. The dial was much more delicate in its markings than in the photographs. Nice, but not quite there for me. Glad I could try it on though.

Well I had my eyes on this one since the first time I saw a picture of it in one of the forums some months ago. I am not really a quartz watch guy but for some reason this model caught my attention and I really liked the overall look of this watch. So I had only to wait for it to surface on the watch sales forum for a price that was affordable for me, it became my Valentine present from my wife including the matching strap.Of course taste is taste and some might discount a watch like this from the start. I know because I did that for a while, I was simply turned off by the plasic case and black color and the fact that the earlier models looked more like small rubber tires on people's arms at least in my view. However after owning two Casio ProTrek Solar watches, I know that they are capable of good quality products and I am happy to say that I am not disappointed in the least. This is a fantastic watch.
