- I have only had mine for a few weeks. I like it's looks, it keeps accurate time. However the leather wrist band feels a little weak. Time will tell if it holds up!

- The watch face is larger than I expected and doesn't appear as feminine as I thought it would. It doesn't matter, because the band broke before I ever got a chance to wear it.

Cartier W200728G wrist watches news:
Starting April 2nd we will be accepting pictures for the new masthead photo. Of course these will have to be photo's of watches made in Germany. The contest will end 4/15 @ 23:59 EDT (U.S. eastern daylight time). So everyone break out your digital cameras and take some nice pics of your Glashutte Original, A Lange, Stowa, Muhle Glashutte, ect.
I have not taken this one off my wrist since last Friday. Here are some more, not color corrected for white balance, showing the dial and back a little closer up. I am in love with the moon disk and the gold speckled stars behind the moon. The attention to detail and the finishing of this piece is stunning.I normally don't have people stop me and say anything about my IWC's, but I have been stopped twice already wearing this one.Bill
2452jn8_19.jpgOne of the thrift stores I work in got in a 60'/70's (Maybe 50's era??) wind up Helbros (Attached pic isn't the actual watch but the exact model). Anyway, the back, except for the cover, is covered in a greenish gunk; around the cover, the lugs, etc.Whats the safest way to clean this, and what would I use to clean it with?Maybe I should post before/after pics? Thanks!
Recently I ran a current of threads in regards to getting a Patek Philippe dress watch. My choice was either a vintage or modern Calatrava. On reading what other members said, I have decided to go for a modern piece.I have been searching for a couple of months now, but prices here in the UK are a lot higher then in Europe and the USA and the choice is nowhere near as good either. I really envy our US members for the huge choice available.I can't make my mind up on whether to buy automatic or manual, date or no date!I have a maximum budget of approximately ¡ê12,000My wrist size is 6 ? inch.Whatever I decide to get, it must be a complete set.I am setting a poll, to see if this helps me make a decision. Here are my choices1) Brand new from dealer a 5196J 37mm2) A 3998R 34mm from 2001 Patek service history not known.3) A 3998J f 34mm from 1991 with a full Patek service in 2013.4) Alternative Patek Philippe dress watch (please name)Thank you for taking the time to vote.
