Diamond cap jewels on high grade movements from the turn of the century, real diamonds or just for show fakes? This picture is of a 21 jewel Riverside Maximus from about 1900, it has two diamond cap jewels. One above the balance wheel and one more just above the escapement wheel. I don't have anything powerful enough to get a real close look at these to make a good decision. I scored two movements with these jewels this week, one is from 1899 and the other is from 1900. Just want to know for future reference. Thanks.

If nothing else they did get me started on what seems to be a very fun hobby. I am looking to step up a little on my next purchase. Maybe the $500 to $700 range. I don't think I will get anothe
